The Snows of Kilimandjaro

The scenery at the harbour of Marseille is sad just as the atmosphere of the roustabouts. It's the fortune that has to decide who will be resigned. In solidarity Michel (Jean-Pierre Darroussin) faces up with fate – and has to perceive the aftermath. However the relationship to his family, that is very secure, and the marriage to his wife Marie-Claire (Ariane Ascaride) makes him firm. The familial easiness refelcts on the paradisiac coulisse of Marseille: the sparkling sea, the gleaming sky, a trip to the beach. But when the couple is attracted and robbed one day, all of their money is missing so that the dream of a journey to the kilimanjaro has to burst. Except for this, it is even more sad for Michel to find out about the robber. It's a film about a braver who tries to remain true to hisself and his ideals and in spite of everything he proves humanity. Marseille is shown as a picturesque coulisse and simultaniously as a inner city.
